Sharks Cruise to 9-0 Victory Over Rams

The Lyons move to 1-1 overall, while the Sharks improve to 1-1 with the victory.

In doubles action, Margaret Teague (Manchester, N.H.) and Meghan Cokely (Haverhill, Mass.) combined for their fifth win of the season, defeating Erica LeBlanc and Kelly Conrad 8-1. In the second position, Sabrina Salmela (Beverly, Mass.) and Rachael Downey (Groveland, Mass.) defeated Adrianna Garrett and Elizabeth Arkins 8-3, while freshmen duo Casey Gilman (Hampstead, N.H.) and Caroline Khoury (Portsmouth, Ohio) picked up their first win 8-3.

Up 3-0 after the doubles competition, the Sharks continued to dominate the court with wins by Teague, Salmela and Cokely in the first three positions. Rachel Sweeney (Norfolk, Mass.) edged Arkins 6-2, 7-6(2) and freshman Katie Crowley (Reading, Mass.) held on in the second to defeat Allison Weisenbach 6-2, 7-5 for the Sharks sweep.

Simmons returns to the court on Saturday, September 22nd when they host GNAC foe Emerson at 12:00 p.m. The Rams travel to GNAC rival Anna Maria on the same date and time.
