Sharks Tennis Ties School Record With 15 Wins

Endicott was led 4-2 after the going 2-1 in the doubles matches and taking the #4 and #5 singles matches. But the Sharks fought back, with Erin Fontaine (Cohasset, Mass.) defeating Laura MacLeod at the #6 position 6-0, 6-3 with the first three singles matches still to play. Allison Bodek (Lynnfield, Mass.) defeated Emilie Cloutier at #2 position 6-1, 6-3 to cut the lead to 4-3. Andre Sime (Bradenton, Fla.) soon followed with a win at the #3 position to tie the game with a close 7-5, 6-3 victory.

It came down to #1 singles match where Sabrina Salmela (Beverly, Mass.) battled Kate Cioffi as the players split tiebreak sets before Salmela won the third set 6-0 to clinch the win for the Sharks.

Simmons will finish their season at the NCAA tournament on May 11th and 12th.
