Sharks Tennis Defeats AMCATS For 10th Straight Win

PAXTON, Mass. ? The Simmons College women?s tennis team defeated Anna Maria, 9-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match-up Wednesday afternoon at the Paxton Sports Centre. With the win Simmons improves to 10-3 overall and remain undefeated in conference play (9-0) and the AMCATS drop to 5-8 (2-5 GNAC). The victory also increases the Sharks winning streak to 10 games, a program best.

In singles play, Allison Bodek (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Andree Sime (Brandenton, Fla.) each captured flawless victories by the score of 6-0, 6-0. Nicole Eskenazi (Goleta, Calif.), Kristi Mielbye (Hanson, Mass.), Heather Rotti (Clinton, Mass.) and Julie Ngo (Brockton, Mass.) also captured wins in No.3, No.4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

In doubles play, the duos of Margaret Teague (Manchester, NH)/Allison Bodek, Andree Sime/Nicole Eskenazi, and Julie Ngo/Heather Rotti swept their matches by 8-0 scores, to complete the match-sweep.

The Sharks will participate in the NEWITT tournament on Saturday, October 15th and Sunday, October 16th before the GNAC tournament begins.
