GNAC Women’s Tennis Playoff Schedule Announced

Simmons College secured first place with an outstanding undefeated conference record of 8-0 and overall record of 11-4. The Sharks were 2008 and 2009 GNAC Champions and have entered the tournament the past two seasons in the top seed in the tournament.

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference recognized 598 student-athletes from 16 league sports on the 2010-11 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Team. 46 Simmons athletes received the honor, and all seven of the Simmons varsity programs sponsored by the GNAC were represented on this year?s Academic All-Conference Team.

Emerson has earned a second place finish with a conference record of 7-1, and an overall record of 10-1. The only loss the Lions had suffered in both conference and non-conference was to GNAC rival Simmons, where they battled the Sharks but came up short in the 6-3 loss.

Suffolk earned their third place seeding with a conference record of 6-2 and an overall record of 8-3. The Rams had two huge victories on the road against #4 Emmanuel and #5 Johnson & Wales to earn a third seed spot in the tournament.

#1 Simmons and #2 Emerson will have a bye in the Quarter Finals and go straight to the Semi Finals. The #3 Rams and #4 Emmanuel (5-3, 8-5) will host the remaining two teams, #5 Johnson & Wales (4-4, 6-7) and #6 Mount Ida (3-5, 5-7) on Wednesday, October 20, 2010.
