Sophomore Sabrina Salmela (Beverly, Mass.) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Week (for the week ending 9/19), the GNAC announced on Monday.

Salmela had a victory at #1 doubles vs. Emmanuel, and was leading her singles match when it was called due to rain. Salmela then had a 6-7, 7-6, 10-4 main draw win vs. Babson at the ITA Regional. In her second round match, she lost to the 45th-ranked player in the country, 6-3, 6-3.

"Sabrina continues to impress against some of the nation's top players," said Head Coach Bob Rauseo. "Following up her first round win at the ITAs, she gave the #45 player in the country a very tough match. It is her fight and determination that will take her to the next level."
