Sharks Earn 2010-11 GNAC Academic All-Conference Honors

Simmons College secured first place with an outstanding undefeated conference record of 8-0 and overall record of 11-4. The Sharks were 2008 and 2009 GNAC Champions and have entered the tournament the past two seasons in the top seed in the tournament.

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference recognized 598 student-athletes from 16 league sports on the 2010-11 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Team. 46 Simmons athletes received the honor, and all seven of the Simmons varsity programs sponsored by the GNAC were represented on this year?s Academic All-Conference Team.

Second-year student-athletes from all 13 member institutions who hold a cumulative 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale) grade point average for the 2010-2011 academic school year and are a member of a varsity team are eligible.

For the second consecutive year, the GNAC has boasted the greatest amount of student-athletes receiving the honor and an increase of 68 student-athletes receiving the honor from the 2009-2010 academic year.
