Salmela began the week with a win at #1 doubles against Babson College, playing with partner Maile Macleod (Carlsbad, Calif.).  Several days later in singles competition, Salmela lost a very close first set (7-6) to Brandeis' Rachel Rosman, currently ranked 41st in the country.

"Sabrina's match against one of the country's best players was very impressive," said Head Coach Bob Rauseo. "She didn't back down despite the competition. This will be the first of many awards that she'll take home."
