Borash and Lynch Come From Behind to Win Doubles Match v. Babson

Simmons Tennis finished with an overall loss to Babson Tuesday night, 8-1. The bright spot for the Sharks was the Victory of Doubles pair Jordan Borash (Marblehead, MA) and Athena Lynch (Andover, MA) over Babson?s Brittany Whitenack (Pittsford, NY) and Ashley Lake (Brockton, MA) in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (7-4).

After defeating one opponent in singles play and three in doubles last week, freshman Athena Lynch (Andover, MA) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women?s Tennis Rookie of the Week.

Playing indoors at the Boston Sports Club due to inclement weather, Babson led the Sharks in all six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches.

The match against Babson finishes Simmons' NEWMAC portion of their schedule.

The Sharks will play again on Thursday, September 11 at 4:00pm, at home against Suffolk University.
