Maggie Taylor Named to GNAC Weekly Honor Roll

Simmons Tennis dropped their first match of the season to Wheaton College Saturday, with a final score of 9-0.

Freshman Maggie Taylor (Yarmouth, ME) was named to the Greater Northeast Atlantic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her second week in a row.

Taylor went a perfect 4-0 on the week, winning both of her singles and doubles matches. In her singles matches, Taylor defeated Alexandra Shakra from Emmanuel College 6-0, 6-0 on October 7, and then defeated Kelly McCarthy also by scores of 6-0, 6-0 on October 11.

In her doubles matches, Taylor, with partner Liza Pope, defeated Catherine Dunphy and Caitrin Dunn 8-1. Taylor and Pope were also partners when the Sharks took on Emerson College and they beat Kelly McCarthy and Zara Niefield by a perfect score of 8-0.
