In the #2 doubles spot, freshmen Liza Pope (West Newbury, MA) and Maggie Taylor (Yarmouth, ME) defeated Suffolk's Alex Hernandez and Rachael Troia, 8-3. Pope and Taylor then continued to singles tennis and won their respective matches; #6 Pope against Rachael Troia 4-6, 6-2, 6-3; #5 Taylor against Carla Mallqui 6-2, 6-0.

Sophomore Katy Hallinan (Lakeville, MA), playing in the #4 spot, defeated Katelyn Paquette decisively, 6-0, 6-0.

#1 doubles team Dominika Hudcova (Malden, MA) and Maile Macleod (Carlsbad, CA) defeated Kaitlynn Cates and Lauren Cameron, 8-5.

"Another team effort as seven players had victories in the match today," said Head Coach Bob Rauseo. "The freshmen aren't playing like freshmen, which is very encouraging this early in the season."

Simmons Tennis will play next on Saturday, September 13 at noon, away at Saint Joseph College Connecticut.
