    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University’s Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Second Team, it was announced today by the league. Senior Alexandra Kay (Forked River, N.J.) was chosen for the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore guard Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) scored 25 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter to help the Simmons University women’s basketball team erase an 11-point second-half deficit and come away with a 70-62 victory over visiting Johnson & Wales University this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Moore Gymnasium on the campus of Simmons in Boston, Mass. The Sharks finish their season with a 7-18 mark, including 4-8 in league play, while the Wildcats fall to 6-19 and 5-7.

The Sharks fall to 6-18 overall and 3-8 in league play, while the Pride improve to 10-14 and 6-5.

    NASHUA, N.H. -- Senior Molly Phillips (Cranston, R.I.) drained a three-pointer with 6.3 seconds to play to give the Simmons University women's basketball team a 76-75 victory over host Rivier University this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at Muldoon Gymnasium in Nashua, N.H. The Sharks improve to 6-17 overall and 3-7 in league play, while the Raiders fall to 3-18 and 1-10.

    PAXTON, Mass. -- Sophomore guard Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) broke the school record for season points and senior guard Francesca Corsinetti (Johnston, R.I.) became the program's career leader in made three-pointers for the Simmons University women's basketball team in a 74-66 loss to host Anna Maria College this evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play at the Fuller Center in Paxton, Mass. The Sharks fall to 5-17 overall and 2-7 in league play, while the AMCATS improve to 9-14 and 6-4.

    WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Sophomore guard Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) poured in a school-record 42 points to lead the Simmons University women's basketball team over host University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), 76-59, this evening in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at the O'Connell Center in West Hartford, Conn. The Sharks improve to 5-15 overall and 2-5 in league play, while the Blue Jays fall to 3-17 and 0-7.
  • Carroll Nets Game-High 16 to Lead Basketball in 57-47 Loss to Colby-Sawyer

    BOSTON, Mass. – Senior point guard Junior center Tianna Sugars (Oxford, Maine) posted a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Colby-Sawyer College women’s basketball over host Simmons University, 57-47, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action this afternoon at Moore Gymnasium on the campus of Simmons in Boston, Mass. The contest was the first between the teams since CSC joined the league in the Fall of 2018 and the first since 1994. The Chargers improve to 13-7 overall and 5-2 in conference play, while the Sharks fall to 4-15 and 1-5.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore guard Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) led all scorers with 24 points for the Simmons University women's basketball team in a 72-45 loss to nationally-ranked number 11 Saint Joseph’s College (Maine) this evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Moore Gymnasium on the campus of Simmons in Boston, Mass. The Sharks fall to 4-14 and 1-4. The Monks, who are ranked the same by both the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and d3hoops.com, improve to a perfect 18-0 and 6-0 in league play and have won 24 consecutive regular-season contests over conference foes.

    BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophomore guard Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) scored 27 points for the Simmons University women's basketball team, but a big second quarter from host Emmanuel College (Mass.) was enough to propel the Saints to a 93-71 Great Northeast Athletic Conference victory over the Sharks at Andy Yosinoff Court at the Jean Yawkey Center in Boston, Mass. Simmons falls to 4-13 on the season and 1-3 in league play, while Emmanuel wins its fifth straight game to improve to 13-4 and a perfect 4-0.

The Sharks win their second straight game and improve to 3-7 on the season, while the Lyons fall to 0-11. The meeting marked the first game between the schools in nearly six years.

    BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Sophomore guard Cassandra Stapelfeld (Brookline, N.H.) and senior guard Francesca Corsinetti (Johnston, R.I.) became the first teammates in school history to score 30 or more points each in a game in leading the Simmons University women's basketball team to a 102-44 victory over host Medgar Evers College this afternoon in the consolation game of the 20th Annual Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial Tournament at Cougars Cave in Brooklyn, N.Y. The point total broke a school record, eclipsing the former mark set when the Sharks defeated Becker College, 101-38, on November 23, 2002. Simmons improves to 1-5 on the season, while the Cougars fall to 0-6.
