BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Basketball had five players in double digits as the Sharks defeated the Fisher College Falcons 93-24, Tuesday evening at the Holmes Sports Center. Junior Liz O'Connor (Milton, Mass.) posted a game high 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Sharks to victory in the team's final home game of the season.
The first half saw outstanding play from Leah Davis (Cranston, R.I.) who recorded seven points and Hannah May (Hamden, Conn.) who found three different teammates in the paint for five assists. Senior Alex Acloque (Randolph, Mass.) posted six points in the half and posted five rebounds.
The Falcons Javanna Bernard went 2-2 from the line and shot 3-15 for eight points for Fisher.
The Sharks went into halftime with the lead, 40-13.
Simmons shot 100% from behind the arc in the second half with May and Acloque burying outside looks. Jessica Thomas (Sandwich, Mass.) added six points off of five steals and teammate Brittany Dolloff (Hollis, N.H.) added five assists.
Sharks freshman Shae Riley (Sanford, Maine) continued her impressive run, recording 16 points, while Davis and Georgia Kostopoulos (Cambridge, Mass.) each added 11.
With the win, the Sharks improve to 4-19 overall and 1-11 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
The Sharks return to the court for their final game of the regular season on Saturday, February 18th when the team travels to Pine Manor for a 1:00 p.m. start.
