Simmons Basketball rolled to a 75-45 win over visiting Pine Manor College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup on Monday night. With the win, the Sharks improve to 7-8 overall (2-2 GNAC) while the Gators fall to 4-10 on the season (1-3 GNAC).

Simmons' win was boosted by four Sharks scoring in the double-digits. Emily Thomas (Cheshire, Conn.) had 16 points, 7 rebounds and three blocks. Thomas was assisted by teammates Liz O'Connor (Milton, Mass.) and freshman Hannah May (Hamden, Conn.) who each scored 15 points, with O'Connor adding 11 rebounds for a double-double. Freshman Rossi Fish (North Attleboro, Mass.) and junior Alex Acloque (Randolph, Mass.) also tipped in six points each.

While the scrappy Gators put up a good fight, Simmons controlled the game from start to finish, outscoring PMC 36-21 in the first half and 39-24 in the second half. The Gators would never pull close enough to threaten the Simmons lead.

Pine Manor was led by Therline Dumeran, who earned a double-double of 12 points and 17 rebounds and tallied six steals. Phibe Pham contribute 8 points, along with teammate Tia Nelson, who was good for 7 points.

Simmons will regroup after an action-packed week and return to GNAC play on Thursday, January 20 when they travel to Suffolk University for a 7:00pm contest. Pine Manor will play again on January 22 at Albertus Magnus.
