Simmons Basketball received two post-season accolades from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, the GNAC announced on Thursday. Junior forward Stephanie Fox (West Springfield, Mass.) was selected to the All-Conference First Team, and junior forward Aubree Giarrosso was selected to the All-Conference Sportsmanship Team.  Fox is the third player in the program's history to earn first-team All-GNAC honors (Jacqueline Bolis 2003-04, Kristen Lucek 2005-06).

Fox had a standout season for the Sharks leading Simmons in scoring (416, 16.0 ppg), rebounds (221, 8.5 rpg), blocks (42) and free throw percentage (84.6).  She led the conference in free throw percentage and ranks among conference leaders in blocked shots (fourth), field goal percentage (fifth, .495), points (sixth) and rebounds (seventh).

"Stephanie Fox had an impressive season and was a big reason for a banner year for the program, I'm glad to see the conference coaches recognized her talents and skills as one of the top players in the GNAC," said Head Coach Tony Price. "The thing that makes the award special is that Stephanie played the majority of the season injured, she fought through excruciating pain to be on the floor and her efforts were rewarded. Stephanie is the 3rd Shark to be named to GNAC first team and it was well deserved."

Giarrosso finished the season averaging 3.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, she scored a season-high 10 points in Simmons' 83-75 victory over St. Joseph's (Patchogue) at the Hunter College Tip-Off on Nov. 22.

"Aubree is well deserving of being named to the Sportsmanship team, her contributions to the Sharks basketball program often go unnoticed. said Price. "However the coaching staff and her teammates know how important she is to our success. Aubree plays hard every night and is very physical, often times she is undersized in the post, yet she never complains or exhibits poor sportsmanship to her opponents. I'm happy for her to receive this award."
