Basketball's Fox Named to GNAC Weekly Honor Roll

Simmons Basketball?s Stephanie Fox (West Springfied, MA) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly Honor Roll, the GNAC announced today.

Simmons Basketball received two post-season accolades from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, the GNAC announced on Thursday. Junior forward Stephanie Fox (West Springfield, Mass.) was selected to the All-Conference First Team, and junior forward Aubree Giarrosso was selected to the All-Conference Sportsmanship Team.  Fox is the third player in the program?s history to earn first-team All-GNAC honors (Jacqueline Bolis 2003-04, Kristen Lucek 2005-06).    

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference recognized 501 student-athletes from 15 league sports on the 2009 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Team.

Simmons Basketball's Stephanie Fox (West Springfied, MA) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly Honor Roll, the GNAC announced today.

At the close of the week with games against Gordon, Oneonta and St. Joseph's LI, Fox racked up 22 rebounds and 42 points, with an average of 14 points per game.

"It is good to see Stephanie recognized for her efforts by the conference," said Head Coach Tony Price. "This is only the beginning, as I expect her to make the GNAC weekly teams regularly."

Fox currently ranks third this season in the GNAC for blocked shots (8), with an average of 2 per game. She is also fifth on the list for defensive rebounds (24), averaging 6 per game.
