The Sharks set the tone early as their size and strength underneath the basket was an advantage that eventually paid off as they hustled over the court and challenged for every rebound, pass and loose ball. Their aggressive play led to 21 offensive boards, 12 more points in the paint then the Crusaders, and 21 second-chance points.

Simmons lead the first half with a 9 point, 26-17, lead, creating a total of 23 turnovers between the two teams. The visiting Sharks continued into the second half with a half court press, disrupting the Crusaders offensive rhythm.

With 13:00 minutes to play in the game, the lead crept out to 17 points, 39-22, and the Sharks showed no signs of letting up. Eastern Nazarene cut the lead back to as little as 13 points, 49-36, with 2:34 left to play, on a Danielle Koers (Attica, N.Y.) layup, but the home team could not get closer. Simmons freshman Christina Cavagnaro (Revere, Mass.) seemed to sink a three point shot (3 for 3) every time the Crusaders threatened as the game ended at 55-38 in Simmons' favor.

Junior Stephanie Fox (West Springfield, Mass.) lead all scorers with 18 points as teammate Brittany Langford (Worcester, Mass.) pulled down 9 rebounds.

Simmons returns to action on January 29 at 7:00pm at home against Pine Manor.
