Simmons and the GNAC are very excited about the partnership with the LFA and want to thank all the students, faculty, staff, and alumni for joining the fight against lupus and raising funds for those who are affected by lupus. Your donation will go to fund much needed lupus research, education, and support services. The GNAC has set a $2,500 fund-raising goal and with your help we know we can reach our goal.

Lupus is an acute and chronic (lifelong) autoimmune disease in which the immune system is unbalanced, causing inflammation and tissue damage to virtually every organ system in the body. It is estimated that 1.5 million Americans have a form of lupus. Ninety percent of people with lupus are women; however, men and children also develop the disease. You can learn more about lupus and the LFA by visiting their website at www.lupus.org.
