Conners Reels In GNAC Player of the Week Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. – Senior outside hitter Claire Conners garnered Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week accolades as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Posting a .316 attack percentage, Conners guided Simmons to a 2-0 week, which included a pair of victories over Regis College and Mitchell College and extended the Sharks win streak to five games.  

In their first match of the day on Saturday, she registered her first double-double of the season, tallying 16 kills and 13 digs against the Pride. Then in Simmons' second match against Mitchell, Conners hit a staggering .375 with 14 kills on 32 attempts and just two errors, while tallying 12 digs for her second double-double.

Simmons returns to the hard-court on Friday evening October 6 when they travel to Chicopee, Massachusetts for a 7 p.m. tilt against Elms College.
