CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Simmons volleyball's (10-6) eight-match winning streak came to a halt Wednesday night at the hands of No. 19 MIT (14-2) with the Engineers defeating the Sharks, 3-0.

It was tight contest to start the match with two ties and on lead change. The Sharks quickly took a 2-0 lead on heels of a pair of kills from junior outside hitter Jayla Parnell, but the Engineers utilized a 6-2 run to take a two-point lead.

Junior outside hitter Claire Conners pulled the Sharks to within one point, 6-5, with a kill, but the Engineers answered. Rattling off four straight points, MIT took a 10-5 and forced Simmons to call its first time out.
