Nine Goal Day Helps Turriza Capture GNAC Player of the Week Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. – Eclipsing a career single-game high twice in a week helped junior attacker Frida Turriza secure Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Turriza helped the Sharks extend their winning streak to five games with back-to-back victories over GNAC North Division foes New England College and Norwich University. Early in the week in a road win over New England College, Turriza surpassed her previous career single-game best tallying six goals, then four days later in an 18-10 win over Norwich University, she bested her single-game goal total, tallying nine goals.

Simmons returns to the field tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Standish, Maine for a 4 p.m. title against Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
