Callender, Chausse, Ferrari to Serve as Captains for 2024 Lacrosse Season

BOSTON – Simmons lacrosse seniors Maggie Callender '24, Julia Chausse '24, and Christina Ferrari '24 have been named captains for the 2024 season announced by first-year Head Coach Bri Burke.  

The trio, along with the rest of the senior class, have been an integral part to the team's success which include guiding the Sharks to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) semifinals each of the past two seasons.

Callender, a native of Rutland, Massachusetts, has been a reliable presence for the Sharks on the field, appearing and starting 37 of 38 games over the last two years. As a junior, Callender recorded a career year tallying 37 ground and 25 caused turnovers, while scoring her first collegiate goal in a victory over Albertus Magnus College. 

A two-time All-GNAC second team selection, Chausse returns to the field looking to lead the Sharks offensive attack. The program's all-time single-season, the East Freetown, Massachusetts native eclipsed the career mark, dishing out 51 assists last season and currently sits at 90 in her three-year career. 

Ferrari rounds out the three captains. The Tennessee native has been a consummate leader and her presence can be felt by teammates and coaches both on and off the field. Additionally, Ferrari is a leader on the campus community serving a Dean's Fellow in the communications department.
