BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons lacrosse (7-2, 5-0 GNAC) remained undefeated in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action following another 20-plus goal performance over Colby-Sawyer College, 21-5, on Monday evening.

Sprinting up the field, senior Sammi Hogan buried the first goal of the game in the back of the goal less than two minutes into the quarter to ignite a nine-goal first period. The Sharks kept the pressure on. Played stifling defense, senior Sidney Pilot forced a turnover by the Chargers leading to junior Marita Nothacker firing a pass to a wide-open Julia Chausse in front of the goal to give the Sharks the two-goal advantage.

Three minutes later, the pair that combined for the second Sharks goal, flipped and scored the third goal of the game. From behind the left side of the night, Chausse connected with Nothacker to give Simmons the 3-0 lead. It felt like déjà vu twenty seconds later, when sophomore Kat Wood, from behind the goal on the far side, found Nothacker game to put the Sharks up by four. And it was off to the races.

Hogan registered her second goal of the quarter, while Wood added a goal to her early assist burying a pass from senior Emi Boedeker. After graduate senior Abby Stoller gave the Sharks a 7-0 lead with just over three minutes to play, sophomore Frida Turriza recorded back-to-back goals to end the first quarter in front, 9-0.

Sophomore Maddie Desimio-Maloney opened the second quarter converting a free position shot opportunity to increase the spread by 10. Back-to-back assists from Wood to Nothacker and Chausse made it a 12-goal differential before sophomore Layla Drinkwater registered her fourth goal of the season. The Sharks took a 14-0 lead into the locker room thanks in part to senior Riley Campbell's fifth goal of the season.

When the teams returned to the field at the start of the second half, Stoller connected with Nothacker on a player advantage for the team's 15 goal. Colby-Sawyer finally jumped on the board nearly four minutes into the second. Stoller added another two goals in the period as Simmons took a commanding, 18-1 lead.

After graduate senior Kayla Boulas opened the fourth quarter with a goal, the Chargers answered, scoring the next three goals, but it was a little too late. Senior Nicole Elliott earned her first win of the season, registering 15 saves in 60 minutes.
