Last Named GNAC and ECAC Goalkeeper of the Week

Simmons sophomore Kelly Last (West Haven, Conn.) was named Goalkeeper of the Week by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and Defensive Player of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for the week ending March 27, 2011.

Simmons sophomore Kelly Last (West Haven, Conn.) was named Goalkeeper of the Week by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and Defensive Player of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for the week ending March 27, 2011.

Last had 32 saves and allowed only 13 goals in three games last week for the Sharks. On Wednesday against Framingham State, she made 19 saves and was a vital part in the win.  For the week, she averaged a .711 save percentage and a 4.3 goals-against average.

"Kelly had a phenomenal week and is such a huge part in the team's success," said Head Coach Amanda Maxwell. "She is very deserving of this recognition from the GNAC and ECAC."
