"I am very excited about the upcoming season," said Maxwell. "This group of young ladies collectively has a tremendous amount of talent and love for the sport as well as the team. I believe that this will be the year that Simmons Lacrosse emerges as a strong competitor in the GNAC."

Captains Jen Szkolt (Bondsville, Maine), Lee Sutherland (Tuftonboro, N.H.) and Meaghan Maurice (Portland, Maine) will join together to lead the team in 2011.

The Sharks graduated just one senior, Emily Sypher, in 2010, and will use the squad's youth to their advantage. The majority of last year's roster will be returning, and combined with seven freshmen, Simmons Lacrosse will continue to strive to be a strong force in the GNAC.
