Arpé Joins Simmons Athletics as Head Field Hockey and Lacrosse Coach

Amanda Arpé enters her first season as the Head Coach of the Simmons Field Hockey and Lacrosse programs. Arpé joins the Simmons Athletics staff after one year as the Assistant Lacrosse coach at Archbishop Williams High School, and one year as Head Coach of Field Hockey and Lacrosse at Mashpee High School. At Mashpee, Arpé led the Field Hockey team to a 10-3-5 record and the first round of the South Division II tournament, and produced four South Shore All Stars. Arpé also coached the Lacrosse team to a 7-6 record, the first winning season in the program?s history, and coached two All Stars.

Before coaching high school, Arpé spent five years as the Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Stonehill College, helping the team to a 51-14 record in her final three seasons. While at Stonehill, Arpé's responsibilities included the planning of team practices, goalkeeper coaching responsibilities, game management, strength and conditioning and recruiting and scouting.

"We are thrilled to have Amanada Arpé join the Simmons Athletics Department," said Director of Athletics Ali Kantor. "Her academic and athletic collegiate experience at William Smith is outstanding. She knows what it takes to be a highly successful student athlete.

"Amanda's coaching experience at the NCAA Division II and high school levels provides her the skills and strategies to bring Simmons Field Hockey and Simmons Lacrosse to a higher level. I am confident that our student athletes will have an excellent experience playing for Coach Arpé".

Arpé is a 2003 graduate of Hobart & William Smith Colleges where she earned her B.A. in American Studies. She was a four-year member of the varsity field hockey team that won the 2000 Division III National Championship.

Arpé has coached several camps and clinics in the northeast. She was the Assistant Director of Stonehill's Ultimate Field Hockey Camp, and assisted at Springfield College's YES Clinic and the East West Field Hockey Camps at Keene State.

Arpé celebrated her marriage in June 2010, and now lives in Braintree, Mass. with her husband.
