Simmons junior Jessica Thomas (East Sandwich, Mass.) has been chosen as the 2010 State Representative Kevin G. Honan Sportsmanship Award recipient.

The award, sponsored by Johnson & Papakyrikos CPA and Financial Planners, honors the player, who through her actions demonstrates one or more of the ideals of sportsmanship, including: fairness, civility, honesty, unselfishness, respect and responsibility. The recipient is chosen by the Honan League officials.

"I'm very proud of Jess receiving this award," said Simmons Head Basketball Coach Tony Price. "She has really matured into a leader and competitor, all while maintaining a level of passion and respect for the game, her teammates and opponents."
