Price Named 2009-10 GNAC Coach of the Year

Simmons Basketball Head Coach Tony Price has been named the 2009-10 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, the GNAC announced on Thursday evening. The post-season honors are voted upon annually by the coaches of the GNAC. Price led the Sharks to a 16-8 regular season record (8-4 GNAC), and an appearance in the conference tournament semifinal round.

"We are thrilled to see Coach Price receive this award. This is truly a statement of recognition for Simmons Basketball under his leadership," said Simmons Director of Athletics Ali Kantor. "Coach has taken the Simmons team to the semifinals of the championships in a very competitive league, while leading the GNAC in several statistical categories. This is an achievement which demonstrates consistent hard work and determined team effort."

Price, the most successful coach in Simmons Basketball history, last received the honor in 2003.
