Nine Members of Softball Program Receive Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Nine members of the Simmons softball team received 2021-22 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, the NFCA announced on Monday afternoon. The Sharks were amongst 7,527 collegiate student-athletes from across the country and all divisions to capture to the accolades.

To be eligible for the Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition, student-athletes need to achieve a 2021-22 grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Emily Barbella, Sam Barr, Christie Bott, Kylie Collins, Shannon McMahon, Alex Morang, Allie Mulhern, Emma Thacher and Chelsie Trask all earned the honors the previous academic year.

As a team, Simmons was one of 115 programs to earn Easton/NFCA Team GPA honors, posting a 3.547 grade-point average for 2021-22. In addition, they were also one of only four Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) programs to receive the honors.
