Full NFCA 2022 Divison III All-Region
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior right-hander Maddie Castigliego and sophomore outfielder Jordyn Rubin were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Second Team, announced by the coaching organization Monday afternoon.
Castigliego's selection comes on the heels of becoming Simmons' first GNAC Pitcher of the Year after posting a 25-13-1 record with a 2.61 ERA and a staggering 2.61 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP. In addition to lead the nation in complete games and third overall in wins.
After earning All-GNAC Second Team honors as well as All-Rookie team accolades, Rubin joined Castigliego on the NFCA All-Region second team. The Maine native registered the second highest batting average against conference opponents, while recording a 1.474 OPA (.938 SLG%, .536 OPS).
The pair become the 19th and 20th members of the softball program to earn the regional honors and first to be earn Second Team honors since Lauren Del Vacchio in 2018.
