Elko Named NFHCA Scholar of Distinction for Third Time

Full NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction Release

MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – Junior Emilia Elko was one of 509 Division III undergraduate student-athletes to be recognized as a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Scholar of Distinction, announced by the coaching organization on Monday.

It is the third time her collegiate career, Elko has received to prestigious accolades and comes one week after earning 2023 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad honors. Additionally, the physical therapy major was one of 36 student-athletes from across the GNAC to be recognized as a Scholar of Distinction.

The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of 2023-24 academic year.

The NFHCA National Academic Team will be announced on Wednesday, February 21 with the announcement of the National Scholar-Athlete on February 26.
