GENEVA, N.Y. – Simmons field hockey was one of 59 NCAA Division III programs to earn 2022 NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award recognition announced Tuesday afternoon.

The NFHCA National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year. With a semester team grade-point average of 3.54, Simmons was one of five Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) schools to receive the accolades.

This announcement comes five days after sophomore Emilia Elko and first-year Ainslee Shrout were named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction. The Sharks also had 11 members from the 2022 squad named to the NFHCA Academic Squad.

Regional foe MIT posted the highest team GPA amongst all Division III institutions with a mark of 3.86.
