NFHCA 2021 Division III National Academic Team Award

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Simmons field hockey was one of 148 Division III institutions to earn the 2021 NFHCA Division III National Team Award, announced Monday morning.  

The NFHCA National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year. '

This announcement comes four days after three members of the Shark 2021 squad (Brianna Desharnais, Emilia Elko and Sydney Gonyea) were named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction. Posting a 3.55 team GPA for the fall semester, the Sharks had 14 members represented on the academic squad announced on February 10.

Simmons was one of nine Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) schools to earn the honors. Colby-Sawyer, Dean College, Elms College, Johnson & Wales University, Lasell University, Regis College, Saint Joseph's College of Maine, and the University of St. Joseph (Conn.) were the other eight schools to earn the team accolades.
