Field Hockey Claims Fourth Seed in GNAC Tournament; Host Elms College on Saturday

WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons field hockey claimed the fourth seed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) post-season tournament announced Thursday afternoon.  

The Sharks will host the fifth-seeded Elms College Blazers in the quarterfinals on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Daly Field at 11 a.m. Earlier this season, the Sharks defeated the Blazers, 2-0, in Chicopee, Massachusetts on Sept. 25. First-year attacker Anna Tedeschi scored both goals for Simmons with senior Emily Plummer assisting on the insurance goal in the 19th minute.

Saturday's winner will move on to face the victor of the No. 1 Colby-Sawyer and No. 8 Anna Maria match.
