Trull Named GNAC Field Hockey Player of the Week Again

WINTHROP, Mass. ? Simmons University field hockey player Olivia Trull (Lowell, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for the week of September 23-29, it was announced today by the league. 

WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University's Olivia Trull (Lowell, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for the week of October 21-27, it was announced today by the league. 

Trull was previously tabbed the conference's top weekly player for the week of September 23-29 and is the only GNAC player this season to earn the nod multiples times. 

The forward tallied a pair of goals in as many games for the Sharks, including a game-winner. The Lowell High School product scored the eventual game-winning marker in a 2-0 victory over visiting conference rival Colby-Sawyer College on October 23. She capped the week by scoring the team's lone goal on her only shot in a 3-1 loss to visiting Wellesley College on October 26. 

Trull has started all 17 matches she's appeared in and currently leads Simmons with 10 goals and 21 points, which also ranks her fifth and sixth, respectively, among league leaders. The Exercise Science major is tied for eighth in the conference with a pair of game-winning tallies and has been the Sharks most consistent scorer over the past two weeks with at least one goal in each of the team's last four contests. 

For her career, Trull has started 69 of 74 matches that she's appeared in and has 55 points on 22 goals and 11 assists. She is enjoying a career-year this season and has five game-winning scores during her tenure with the Sharks. 

Simmons is currently 7-10 on the season, including 4-3 in league play and returns to action on Wednesday, October 30 when it travels to Newton, Mass. to take on GNAC foe Lasell University at 3:15 p.m. in its regular-season finale.
