Neidhardt Named NAC Rookie of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons first year Mary Neidhardt (Middlefield, Conn.) was named North Atlantic Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Week announced Tuesday.

BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons first year Mary Neidhardt (Middlefield, Conn.) was named North Atlantic Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Week announced Tuesday. Neidhardt scored three goals to help the Sharks to a 3-0 week and the program's best start in recent history at 5-1.

 

Neidhardt scored her second goal of the year in the Sharks 7-0 victory over Fenway neighbor Wheelock College on Sep. 13 and added two more against Wheaton College on Sep. 15 as the Sharks rolled to a 4-1 win. Neidhardt is now tied for first on the team in goals with four.

 

"Mary had a great week this week. She is really fine tuning her positioning and that is helping her greatly. She brings enthusiasm and drive to the team," said head coach Amanda Maxwell. 

 

The Sharks return to action at home on Wednesday, Sep. 18 against Mount Holyoke College at 7:00 PM.
