CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Simmons Field Hockey was named a 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award recipient announced today by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that have achieved a Team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year.
The Sharks, who achieved a Team GPA of 3.54 during the fall semester, tied with Richard Stockton College for fourth place on the Top Five Performers List behind MIT, Ramapo College and Wesleyan University.
This is the 12th consecutive year that Simmons Field Hockey has received this award.
