Three Sharks Named to 2012 NAC Fall All-Academic Team

BOSTON, Mass. -- Senior Michaela Sangillo (Gray, Maine) and juniors Monica Doucette (Rockport, Maine) and Courtney Cappadona (Foxboro, Mass.) of the Simmons Field Hockey team were named to the 2012 North Atlantic Conference Fall All-Academic Team announced today by the conference. 

CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Ten Simmons Field Hockey student-athletes were named to the 2012 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad announced Tuesday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

BOSTON, Mass. -- Senior Michaela Sangillo (Gray, Maine) and juniors Monica Doucette (Rockport, Maine) and Courtney Cappadona (Foxboro, Mass.) of the Simmons Field Hockey team were named to the 2012 North Atlantic Conference Fall All-Academic Team announced today by the conference.

 

To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached junior academic standing, have competed a minimum of two years of varsity competition at their institution with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.

 

Sangillo started all 19 games on defense for the Sharks this season and recorded one assist versus New England College on September 29th. Cappadona started 14 games on defense and assisted the Sharks game-winning goal against Colby-Sawyer on October 6th. Doucette started all 19 games at midfield and was the Sharks second leading scorer with seven goals and five assists for 19 points.
