BOSTON, Mass. -- Simmons Field Hockey senior Katelyn Tighe (Easton, Mass.) was named to the 2011 North Atlantic Conference All-Conference Second Team announced Tuesday.

Tighe appeared in all 20 games for the Sharks in 2011, scoring 13 goals and tallying eight assists for 34 points, and is tied for first place on the Sharks roster with two game-winning goals. A two-year captain, Tighe had three impactful years as a Shark after transferring from URI. She amassed 25 goals and 18 assists for 68 points in 50 games.

Castleton State University was honored with Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Coach of the Year honors in a perfect 9-0 regular season campaign. Sophomore forward Rachel Preusser was selected Player of the Year, Kristy Pinkham was honored as the league's top rookie, and Spartans head coach Tammy Landon received her fourth Coach of the Year honor.

Saint Joseph's (Maine) senior goalie Meaghan Johnson was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year. Johnson started all nine conference games in between the pipes for the Monks, posting a 1.11 goals against average, while going 8-1.

For the third-straight season Rivier College was honored with the league's Sportsmanship Award.

The Sharks fell to Saint Joesph's (Maine) 3-1 on Saturday in quarterfinal action, finishing the 2011 season 4-5 (NAC) and 9-11 overall.
