Simmons freshman Monica Doucette (Rockport, Maine) was named the field hockey Rookie of the Week by the North Atlantic Conference on Monday.

During the week ending September 26, Doucette had two assists and the game-winning goal at Lasell. With her speed and stick work, she has helped Simmons start conference play with a 1-0 NAC record.

"This is such an honor for Simmons Field Hockey and an indication of where this program is going," said Head Coach Amanda Maxwell. "Monica is so deserving of Rookie of the Week. Not only does she understand her personal role on the field she understands the importance of teamwork."
