Lasell's Caitlyn Walker and Tia Pratt each scored a goal lifting the Lasers to a 2-0 North Atlantic Conference victory against Simmons on Thursday afternoon at Grellier Field. The Sharks fall to 4-11, NAC 0-4, while Lasell improved to 6-7, NAC 2-2.

At the 11:56 mark Walker gathered a pass from Stephanie Jansen, putting the ball past Sharks goalkeeper Jen Szkolt (Bondsville, Mass.) to put Lasell ahead, 1-0.

In the 28th minute Pratt sliced through the Sharks defense, scoring Lasell's second and final goal of the game.

"Lasell was an intense, tough team and it was a very evenly matched game," said Head Coach Kate Leonard.  "We had more shots and 9 corners to their 0, so we have to take advantage of those numbers and be fierce in front of the goal to score."

Junior goalkeeper Skzolt made three saves for the Sharks while Lasell's Christine Thornton was credited with three saves in her shutout effort.

"While we played one of our best games in terms of intensity, we had trouble finishing in the circle to get on the scoreboard," said Leonard. "Our passing and crosses to goal were solid, and we continue to work on positioning to get those in the back of the net.  Emily Sypher had her best game of the season, really winning every ball even remotely in her area. She set us up several times in the offensive circle and made some key interceptions in the mid and back fields."

Simmons returns to action on Tuesday, October 21 when they face non-conference foe Wheelock College at the Winsor School Field at 7:00 p.m.
