Youngmark Named Athletics Facilities & Operations Manager

BOSTON – Simmons Director of Athletics & Recreation Erica Schuling has named Benjamin Youngmark as Athletics Facilities & Operations Manager. He will begin his new role on July 10, 2023.

Youngmark's responsibilities will be to oversee the operations of the Holmes Sports Center, all its facility requests and work orders as well as manage revenue contracts from rental groups. Additionally, he will supervise all the Athletics student staff and serve as site administrator at home athletic events.

"I look forward to welcoming Ben into the Simmons community," says Schuling. "His familiarity and knowledge of Boston and the GNAC will be a valuable asset. I am positive his experience overseeing student workers and facilities will continue to enhance our athletic operations."

A familiar face, Youngmark arrives at Simmons after spending two years as an Event Operations Graduate Assistant at conference rival Regis College. While in Weston, he led weekly game operations meetings, hired and trained the Pride game-day staff, including managing four athletic mascots and communicated weekly to officials, assignors and visiting teams.

In addition to his game-day work, Youngmark served as the athletics facility supervisor, overseeing schedules and answering patrons' questions as needed. He also assisted in coordination of the production of athletics flags to fly at outdoor athletic venues and for use of the mascots during competition.

"I am very excited to be able to stay in the GNAC and work with so many great people at Simmons," says Youngmark. "This is a great opportunity for me and I cannot wait to get started."

Youngmark has extensive knowledge in the facilities and operations arena. During the spring semester of his senior year at Kansas, he secured an event operations intern at Sport Management Associates, LLC. As an intern, he assisted in planning youth sports, basketball camps and football games around the Kansas City Metro area, while also planning the Great American Basketball League All-Star Weekend.

A native of Kansas, Youngmark graduated from the University of Kansas in the May of 2021 with a Bachelor's Degree in sport management before obtaining his Master's Degree in the spring of 2023 from Regis College.
