BEVERLEY, Mass. – After being selected to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference squad, a trio of Simmons' volleyball student-athlete were named to the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) All-England Team announced earlier this week. 

Junior outside hitter Claire Conners and senior outside hitter Sydney Iannantuono were both named to the NEWVA All-New England third team, while junior setter Kat Simeonidis earned Honorable Mention honors.

Conners grabbed All-Region honors for the second consecutive year after being selected to the All-GNAC first team for a second time. She dominated the conference playoffs hitting .266 with 63 kills on 169 attempts, while was an integral piece in Simmons 3-2 comeback victory over Rivier in the semifinals. Against the Raiders, she surpassed her collegiate career single-game best with 27 kills, while posting a .298 attack percentage with 22 kills in the championship match against Johnson & Wales. 

After being selected to the All-GNAC team for the third time in collegiate career, Iannantuono grabbed her first All-Region recognition.  The Sharks leader on the court this season, she too surpassed her single-season bests, tallying 301 kills with 314 digs, 35 aces and 17 total blocks. Additionally, she recorded eight double-doubles on the season, including four straight games from September 17 – 30.

Pacing the offense with 935 assists, Simeonidis rounded out the trio garnering all-region attention.  In addition to averaging 8.82 assists per game, she also is second amongst NCAA leaders in service aces registering 91 over the 2022 season. Simeonidis finished the year posting a single-season best, 65 kills, 935 assists, 91 aces and 22 total blocks to receive the end of the season accolades.
