Conners Garners Final GNAC Player of the Week Honors of the Season

WINTHROP, Mass. – Junior outside hitter Claire Conners secured the final Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week accolades announced by the conference on Monday.

Conners posted an outstanding .417 attack percentage, to help guide the Sharks to a 2-1 week and in the process clinch the fourth seed in the GNAC post-season tournament. Early in the week, in a four-set match against Lasell University, she notched 18 kills on 39 attempts while coming one dig shy of her fifth double-double of the season.

The California native closed out the week leading the Sharks to a pair of 3-0 sweeps of Albertus Magnus and USJ on the road. Against the Falcons, she hit .500 with nine kills on 16 attempts and one error, before closing the day tallying 16 kills on 29 attempts and just three errors against the Blue Jays.

Simmons returns to the court tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 1 when they host No. 5 Regis College in the GNAC quarterfinals at 7 p.m.
