Volleyball Earns Second Seed in GNAC Tournament; Hosts Lasell on Tuesday Evening

WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons volleyball (18-6, 11-2 GNAC) earned the second-seed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) post-season, announced Saturday evening. 

The Sharks claimed the two-seed for the second straight season by virtue of a 3-1 victory of Johnson & Wales University on Saturday afternoon. It was Simmons first win in seven years against the Wildcat. Their last win coming in September 27, 2014 in a five-set, 3-2, win in Providence, R.I.

Simmons will host the seventh-seed Lasell University on Tuesday Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. The winner will move on to the GNAC semifinals and face the winner of the No. 3 Johnson & Wales and No. 6 Elms College match.
