NEW LONDON, N.H. – Simmons volleyball (11-4, 5-2 GNAC) returned to its winning ways with a 3-0 sweep of Colby-Sawyer College (8-12, 3-4 GNAC) on Wednesday evening. Sophomore Claire Conners posted a .600 attack percentage, leading the Sharks with 13 kills on 20 attempts with just one error.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1: Simmons 25, Colby-Sawyer 17
The Sharks set the tone early with a 25-17 win in the first set, to take the 1-0 match advantage. Conners led an offense that hit .279 as a team, going five of eight from the floor, while sophomore setter Kat Simeondis paced the offense with 13 assists.

SET 2: Simmons 25, Colby-Sawyer 14
Simmons showed no sign of letting up in the second set. Hitting .414 as a team, the Sharks took a commanding 2-0 lead with a 25-14 victory. Conners was one of three players to registered four kills in the set as she was flawless, posting a .571 attack percentage. Junior Sydney Iannantuono and sophomore Jayla Parnell also chipped in with four kills.

SET 3: Simmons 25, Colby-Sawyer 12
The Sharks closed the door on the Chargers following a 25-12 victory in the third set. Conners was nearly perfect from the floor, tallying four kills on five attempts as Simmons hit .346 as a team with 12 kills on 26 attempts with three miscues.

SIMMONS HIGHLIGHTS

• Sophomore Claire Conners posted her highest attack percentage of the season (.600), leading the Simmons with 13 kills on 20 attempts with just one error.
• Simmons hit .337 as a team with 42 kills on 98 attempts and nine errors – their second-best attack percentage on the season.
• Junior Sydney Iannantuono registered a .400 hitting percentage, tallying eight kills on 15 attempts with two errors.
• Jordan Hacker led the way defensively with 11 digs.
