BOSTON, Mass. – On Saturday October 15, the Simmons College women's volleyball team will be hosting an American Cancer Society Coaches vs. Cancer match at 3:00 p.m. vs. Great Northeast Athletic Conference opponent Norwich University to promote cancer awareness.

Head Coach Scott Grandpre and his squad led by four seniors, Kat Guillotte (New Bedford, Mass.), Andalyn Duke (Litchfield Park, Ariz.), Abby Hart (Westfield, Mass.), and Alex Itasaka (Bradford, Mass.), will be decked out in pink for warm ups and the match, including pink shoelaces, signifying their support in the fight against cancer.

The Coaches vs. Cancer program is an opportunity for athletic teams and coaches to join forces and make a difference in the fight against cancer. Since the Coaches vs. Cancer program began 20 years ago, college and high school coaches across the country have joined the team to support the American Cancer Society, helping to raise more than $85 million to fund the fight. All proceeds raised by the Sharks and their supporters will help the American Cancer Society finish the fight against cancer.

Fans can still show their support to the cause through monetary donations to benefit the life-saving work of the American Cancer Society and its Coaches vs. Cancer initiative.
