Wentworth never trailed in the opening set and jumped out to a 15-7 lead, but Simmons came back with a 10-3 burst to pull to within 18-17, but it was as close as the Sharks would get for the frame. The Leopards took the set, 25-18.

Simmons hit .263 for the second set and pulled out a 27-25 win. The teams played within three points of each other the entire set, which featured 13 ties. Woodward put away a kill to give Simmons the set and tie the match at 1-1.

The third set was within three points of each team through the first 25 points. The Leopards held a 13-11 margin, before scoring four straight points to take a 17-11 cushion. Despite a pair of aces from Fredrickson to later pull the Sharks to within 17-14, Wentworth maintained its lead to win the set.

The Leopards took an early 14-8 advantage, but Simmons chipped away and climbed to within 16-15. Wentworth regrouped and closed out the frame on a 9-4 run to win the contest.
