WORCESTER, Mass. – Visiting Simmons College snapped a five-match losing streak by rallying from one set down to knock off host Clark University 3-1 in non-league women's volleyball action on Thursday evening.

The win for the Sharks brings them closer to .500 at 8-10, while the Cougars have dropped six of their last seven and now sit at 5-7 overall. Simmons won by game scores of 16-25, 25-23, 25-11 and 25-19.

Raeann Nesta (Niantic, Conn.) finished with a team-high 13 kills and four solo blocks to lead the Sharks' attack. She was joined in double figure kills by Kelly Last (West Haven, Conn.) who had a double-double with ten kills and ten digs.

Simmons controlled the play at the net, totaling 15.5 blocks and recording 40 kills. Rachel Dufault (Westport, Mass.) ended with a match-high 33 assists for the Sharks, while Chanel Thomas (Phoenix, Ariz.) added 12 digs.

Clark, meanwhile, was led by freshman Shannon Glass-Smythe, who had a match-high 14 kills and eight digs. Mel Conde added nine kills and 11 digs and Rachel Spera chipped in with 30 assists.

The Cougars will return to action on Saturday when they host a tri-match featuring Rhode Island College and Westfield State. Simmons, on the other hand, won't return to the court until Tuesday when they host Johnson & Wales at 7:00 p.m.
