Sharks Fall to Undefeated Emerson 3-0

BOSTON, Mass. ? In a match of the GNAC unbeatens, the Emerson Women's Volleyball Team defeated the Simmons Sharks Thursday night in a 3-0 sweep. The Lions topped the Sharks 25-11 in all three sets, improving to first place in the conference with a 15-5 overall record and 9-0 GNAC standing, while Simmons falls to 16-5 on the year and 6-1 in the conference.

BOSTON, Mass. – In a match of the GNAC unbeatens, the Emerson Women's Volleyball Team defeated the Simmons Sharks Thursday night in a 3-0 sweep. The Lions topped the Sharks 25-11 in all three sets, improving to first place in the conference with a 15-5 overall record and 9-0 GNAC standing, while Simmons falls to 16-5 on the year and 6-1 in the conference.

In the first set, the Lions went on a 10-to-1 tear to open the set with the defense nearly untouchable in digs while Kat Rice put down five kills for a .571 percentage as the Lions went up 1-0 on the Sharks 25-11.

The Lions dominated the second game with Rice registering four kills and a .600 attack percentage. Simmons senior Meaghan Flynn (Laguna Beach, Calif.) led the Sharks with eight kills and junior Rachel Dufault (Westport, Mass.) posted nine digs on defense.

The Sharks travel to Eastern Nazarene for an 11:00 a.m. non-conference match on Saturday, October 15th. The Lions return to action Saturday hosting UMass-Dartmouth and Colby-Sawyer in a tri-match.
