Sophomore OH Meaghan Flynn (Laguna Beach, Calif.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Second Team, and sophomore Krista Evans (Killen, Ala.) earned a spot on the All-Conference Sportsmanship Team, the GNAC announced Friday evening. The honors came after the Sharks finished the 2009 fall season with a 7-5 conference record, and the highest post-season seeding since the 1999 tournament.
Flynn finished the season with 84 service aces (40 GNAC), 248 kills (126 GNAC), and 234 digs (104 GNAC). This is the second year in a row Flynn has earned a spot on the Second Team; in addition, in 2008, she was named GNAC Rookie of the Year. Head Coach Jason Conetta describes Flynn as the "catalyst of our offensive attack this season."
